Dear Friends,

The first quarter of 2011 has turned out to an exciting time for us here at John Lum Architecture.

In January, we won the 2011 CH+D Award for Sustainable Architecture for the Lim Kimberg residence, a house which features the first permit-approved rainwater for gray water system in San Francisco; the details which can be read in the Jan / Feb issue of California Home Design or click here.

Our Dining Womb at DIFFA’s 2010 Dining by Design event, a major fundraiser for AIDS research, created a buzz due to our over-the-top 20’ long dining table that utilized 1,100 pieces of CNC-cut cardboard. Not only did we raise money for AIDS research, but the process of creating our own design without compromise was incredibly liberating and fun. more >

We launched our redesigned and improved website so that the user experience is intuitive and easy. We welcome your comments on our new site. more >

Featured project of the quarter: The Shipyard Welcome Center. Serving as both a sales center and as a community center for the next 5 years, we are excited to be part of the revitalization of this newly developing community in San Francisco. more >

We wish you a healthy and happy spring!
