This badly mangled, pecky-cedar-clad 1970's remodel was transformed into a zen-like study of geometry and compactness. The kitchen, bathroom, and master bedroom were compressed into a maple-clad cube to open up space for a dining room with downtown views. Hidden doors provide access to additional storage and a sophisticated house control system. The austere palette of materials creates a restful aerie to enjoy the expansive views.
